A winter holiday in South Tyrol holds several possibilities for cross country skiing in the breathtaking countryside. This Nordic ski sport is an ideal form of fitness and stamina training, exercising almost all muscle groups. In close proximity to the Tirolensis hotel you will find many tracks to choose from: from beginners level, the tracks all cater for the classical cross country skiing style to the more modern skating style. The glacier tracks enable cross country skiers to practise the sport all year round.
In the Meran 2000 skiing area there are two cross country trails. The Falzleben and Vöran tracks are five and seven kilometres long, respectively. The are graded as easy to moderately difficult. The Ultner track in the 25 kilometre long track at the Schwemmalm skiing area leads through picturesque countryside at altitudes of up to 300m. The two short tracks at the Vigil Joch skiing area are well maintained and offer spectacular panorama views.
On the Schnalstaler glacier you can enjoy excellent cross country skiing conditions all year round. In summer up to 15 kilometres of track are at your disposal; the two tracks are at 2800 and 3050 metres altitude respectively. To make the most of the facilities you require a a ticket for the cable car and the feeder lift.
